Cash to the tune of Rs.70,000 was burgled from a post office at Kodakara in the district. The burglary came to the notice of the staff of the post office on Thursday morning, the police said.
Burglars bored a hole into the strong room of the Muttuchira branch of Federal Bank and took away cash and gold worth nearly Rs.1 crore. According to the police, burglars took away 8769.4 grams (1096 sovereigns) of gold estimated at Rs.73,65,000 and Rs.17
