Rice meant for farm labourers%u2019 under the %u201CFood-for-Work%u201D scheme is being smuggled out to Kerala and sold at hefty prices, thus resulting in huge profits for the contractors who have taken up works in many districts of Tamil Nadu.
However, the embassy is on the lookout for their sub-agents in Kerala who are believed to have recruited some 40 workers from the state having squeezed huge sums from them.
